Dr. des. Angela Schattner
Angela Schattner, who joined the GHIL in October 2010, studied at the University of the Saarland, Saarbrücken, and received a diploma (Dipl. Kulturwiss.) in cultural studies for a dissertation on the life of disabled people in early modern Germany in 2005. Based widely on the topic of her dissertation, she completed her PhD successfully in 2010 with a thesis on the perception and daily-life of epileptics in early modern Germany. The thesis is currently being prepared for publication. She is now working on a history of British sports practise from the 15th to the 17th century.
