Vidya K.S.

Vidya K.S., who joined the TRG in July 2014, is a doctoral student at the Zakir Husain Centre for Educational Studies (ZHCES), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Her doctoral research focuses on modes through which global discourses of privatisation in school education interact and influence national discourses of school reforms within the Indian context. The study will examine Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in India, focusing exclusively on models of teacher-training. It will analyse the ‘Teach for India’ intervention in Delhi, an off-shoot of the ‘Teach for America’ programme, as an important case-study in this regard. Her research is being supervised by Professor Geetha B. Nambissan at ZHCES, JNU, New Delhi.
