GHIL 50: Indra Senguta (Senior Fellow and Head of India Research Programme)

In this episode of the GHIL’s 50th-anniversary series, Kim König and Thomas Kaal speak with Indra Sengupta, Senior Fellow and Head of the GHIL’s India Research Programme. They discuss Indra’s path through the Institute, her role in building and leading the Programme, and how the GHIL’s India-focused research has evolved over time. Their conversation also explores the Programme’s collaborative work with Indian universities and research centres, its themes—from education, poverty, and labour history to heritage and the politics of history—and its fellowships supporting archival research and international exchange.
