In this episode of the GHIL’s 50th-anniversary series, Kim König speaks with Marcus Böick, former holder of the Visiting Postdoctoral Research Fellowship of the Institute of Advanced Studies, University College London, and the German Historical Institute London. Marcus reflects on his joint fellowship in London and how it helped shape his path to Cambridge, where he is now Assistant Professor of Modern German History. He also discusses his research on private security companies, teaching German history in the UK, and the importance of connecting scholars across borders.
